The Elliot is likely an Armstrong relation, they were good neighbors to Gorrenberry. At least the oldest Thomas Armstrong of Mangerton, a younger brother called Gilnockie, got some Elliot hung, as part of his gallant company. Shows those older brothers have to keep an eye on their younger brothers, if they have them. What Elliot would want to claim relations to those Graham, Irving, Johnston, and Little. They were not the best of people like those Armstrong.

Elliot Chief receives a tribute to her grandmothers at Greenville, SC

Forty-eight Elliot Clan Society members participated in the Chief ís Dinner on Saturday evening during the Greenville Games. Duringdinner, Elliot Clan Society member and South Carolina re-enactor, William Grissop, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina delivered a moving tribute to the Chief – honoring her Scottish Border and Southern Grandmothers. The Elliot Chief descends from a line of hereditary Chiefs back to the time of Robert the Bruce in the 1300s in Scotland. Through her Atlanta-born paternal grandmother, she also descends from many early South Carolina families who settled in that state before the American Revolutionary War. Here are the words Mr. Grissop shared with Margaret Elliott of Redheugh: Margaret Eliott is a daughter of the Scottish Borders, that fabled land that produced the men known as the Border Reivers or the Steel Bonnets. They were indeed men of steel. It need not be doubted that these men of steel sprang from, married and fathered women of steel. To even read casually of the Border history would make one wonder what sort of women were these who mothered, married and supported these men, the Steel Bonnets. These were strong women, resilient women, loving women. Were it not so, we of the Elliot Clan would not be here today. Our Chief, Margaret Elliott, is blood and sinew of these people. She is also blood and sinew of another proud line of strong women. Chief Margaret is also a Southern Girl! Her paternal grandmother was bornin Georgia and other grandmothers were born in South Carolina and Tennessee. (Being a native South Carolinian with much Georgia blood flow ing through my veins, I can readily state that this is about as much glory as one person can stand!) These women of the South have proven their glorious worth over the years.

Use to using a different format, but the above is and example of lands, including an insert-map showing Braidlee, from Anglo-Saxon Broadlee, meaning a valley broad on the leeward side. Wolflee also Anglo-Saxon, meaning the valley of the wolf. Yes, there were wolfs in the region. They introduced them around here and the Navajo grandmas shoot them for going after their sheep. Put chief Margaret Eliott raised in Stobs, but of Redheugh, in the same category if Scotland decides to reintroduce wolfs. Her husband seems to have a Polish wolfish type surname.

Though I may observe him, do not want to make any distinctive moves. Past British Army MI6 you know, but on the same family side.

May have bumped elbows on an Armstrong in the Aberdeenshire region. Finding that Eliott-Elliot may have land connection with Douglas-In-graham in region. Those Graham they are English an seem to not want to claim Armstrong-Elliot as family. Maybe the Nixon and Crozier seem to have English connections they find more acceptable.

Kind of like staying in the Forest with the Fosters, they are English and seem to be not offended to be related to Armstrong and Elliot, from the English side like those Grahams. It is the Hunter and wolf, for they are predators of the elk-moose, I must watch out for.

The Crozier seem to be Saxon along with the Thorleehope (valley of Thor, god of lightning Thunder Valley). A couple of Crozier seem to match their Y-DNA and are not R-L193. It seem like if you are not R-L192 and are R-U106, Anglo-Saxon they like to silence and exterminate you. Mark Stephen Elliott

Daniel as a forename is not popular in Scotland. Many great in accordance with Douglas Scott of BC, Canada, Dand Ellot was banished from both Kingdoms in 1607, then shows up as Daniel Elliott, in Tullykelter, Co. Fermanagh, Ireland, as part of the Somerville Estate in-law to the Monea Hamilton. Names Somerville, and Ellott show up in 1610 Tyrone Muster, and a generation later in the Co. Fermanagh, Muster. James Somerville shows up in bother musters. 1610 James Somerville had son 1630 Somerville. Scots alias nickname for Andrew is Dand, Irish English it becomes Daniel from surname of Daniel-M’Daniel it may be obtained. Ellot family of Tullykelter were Anglican but nomally Catholic, from forenames show this, even the name in 1610 Ulster Muster of Co. Fermanagh, Marke Ellot shows this. Before 1650 the Scots used Ellot not Elliot with the Norman ‘i’. Daniel Elliott name in 1692 Salem Trials was spelled Elot, the ‘i’ was added likely because of a John Eliot (Eliot Hall Harvard) which came over on the Mayflower. Had a relative to a George Soul who’s ancestor those Armstrong may have melted in lead at Ninestanerig, 9 stone ridge. Did not seem to care much for this Soulis either. The Douglas and Armstrong seem to like, and this Douglas Scott who is from BC, Canada is active with the Hoik-Hawick Archaeological Society, and has this younger brother who is active also, and sings Scottish Ballads with this group called Scocha (Scott-Chapman), do not know being an elk-moose if I care for his middle name of Hunter, though I think he also is weary of the hunter.

Jim Elliott, administrator of the Elliott surname project, reports that the Elliotts of the A1 clade are
those of Clan Elliott, the ones thought to descend from the border Elliotts of Liddesdale and
Roxburghshire. They constitute about 37% of all Elliotts who have tested at least 25 markers and
are by far the largest single group among Elliotts.
Glendonwyn
The A1 clade contains an overwhelming 70% of all men of Glendonwyn-derived surnames who
have had their Y DNA tested, which supports the tradition that this is a surname group with a
single origin.

In the Russian-speaking environment, there is a version that the battle “Tollense valley battlefield” is supposedly a conflict over the genetic border between distant genetic relatives R1b and R1a. In the battle, the earliest Europeans from genetic genus I (i) were used as allies and support for the R1b cavalry. Allegedly, in the Bronze Age, there was a prototype of the Warsaw Pact, which protected Eastern Europe R1a from other different religions, ideologies, and new synthetic languages … in the future, divided R1a into small pygmy states, under external control. Therefore, it is very interesting to find the primary source for genetic haplogroups determined from the bones of ancient warriors who made history, which is unknown to us, since, for example, in Russia (even in tsarist Russia, perhaps due to the fact that the last Romanovs were R1b from the family Holstein-Gottorp). All historical events before the adoption of Christianity were destroyed or hidden from the public eye and education.

From a genetic point of view, it is very difficult to find out who the Russian Tsars and Princes really were, since even in the official data it is clear that the tsars were replaced in childhood. And a very vivid example is the Russian Tsar Peter 1, either he was replaced by the “Germans” in Moscow at the time of his birth, then he is actually the son of a Georgian prince, then he was changed for the third time during a trip to Western Europe. And I don’t really know who they were by genetics Holstein-Gottorp. Since everything connected with the power in Russia is covered with several layers of rewritten history. Even now, they say that Putin is not real and that there are doubles acting instead of him, or in general all the presidents of Europe, the United States and Russia were infected with leprosy by the President of Ukraine Yushchenko. And because of this insidious disease, Putin’s face has changed, and in fact it is not a double, but simply a consequence of the leprosy that Yushchenko infected with during kissing and hugging all the presidents.

Bashkir cartoon based on myths that the Giants used to live together with people and why distant relatives of R1a and R1b constantly waged wars among themselves. R1a and R1b are the main haplogroups of the Bashkirs. But that’s not the point. This cartoon by Artyom Lukichev is about the epic Ural. According to this epic, the Bashkirs descend from two brothers – Shulgan and the Urals. So one of the sons of Shulgan – Hakmar – the Bashkir Burzyans descend from him, they are R1b, and the three sons of the Urals – Idel, Nugush and Yaik – from them the Bashkir tabyns, Yurmats and Kypsaks come from, they are R1a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMBuo7JHesg

“The introduction of an ‘i’ into the name ‘Ellot’ was, without doubt, unfortunate. It immediately confused th Clan with the weL-known English Norman family of St. Germains, settled in the West County of Wales and in no way related, whose name was derived from ‘Alyot’. And it confused still further the already indeterminate origin of those whose name was spelt with tow ‘Ls” and two ‘Ts’.”

People who exclude family members from the family tree and refer to them as liars, can not consider themselves genetic genealogists.  Are of the Adolph Hitler type, they may consider themselves as Harvard Historians of the type which hung my ancestors as witches, of the ones of McCarthyism, of my youth which black listed  Jewish playwrights as communists during the early part  of the Cold War.

Steve Wozniak i ja dzielimy niespełna rok różnicy wieku, ale urodziłem się dekadę przed nim. Steve pochodzi z Berkeley, a ja z Uniwersytetu Wyoming.

Steve to prawdopodobnie Steven, moje drugie imię to Stephen of Stephan, inżynier, który lubi grać.

Who is going believe that a person born in the forties, of Border Reiving descent owns and operates a dot com? My actions as one time a behavioral scientist was meant to do that. Was able to sort out the admins.  THE FAMILY KNOWS BEST, is how genealogy is done. The first person to put their foot on the moon, was and Armstrong an engineer, then towards the end of the American moon landings, a geologist of Harvard from New Mexico, with a middle name the same as my mothers-in-law’s maiden name core drilled the moon.

With the challenger a social studies teacher was sent into space, with an engineer saying the O-rings were bad.

If an FTDNA admin has kicked someone off their blog then I am saying having worked as a second generation engineer ‘Your O-rings are bad’.

Changed the model. Own and operate three dot coms. Utilize behavioral separation. The scientists-mathematicians-geneticists-genealogists, by their behavior of being seekers and searchers, the top ones have already done so, will go to Microsoft Bing, (that young man Bill Gates started Microsoft in New Mexico, can’t understand why he moved to Seattle).  Knew silences do not check what is a necessary for proper science and genealogy, that is documentation.

That is the worst situation a engineer can be in, especially having a standard of studies in ‘strenghs and materials’.

Since people without base principals like sig figs, are trying to superimpose their concepts on people as the judges of the Salem Witch Trials, and Senator McCarthy in ‘blacklisting’ Jewish authors as being ‘communists’, feel these immigrants which came to American after the Apache and Navajo, and my relative on the Mayflower, for us it is standard. Freedom of speech and religion.

The best way for a deception is to be as accurate as an engineer, and have people think you are a liar.

Sincerely,

Mark Stephen Elliott

In 1540 Thomas Armistrang oldest brother to the deceased Johnnie Gilnockie  Armstrang, of Meriantoun, now Mangerton, paid taxes on Billhope land bordering that of Arichibaldo (Archie Keen ?) Elwald (Ellot, Ellwood) that of Gorrenberry.

I

NOW Liddesdale has ridden a raid,

But I wat they had better hae staid at hame;

For Michael o’ Winfield he is dead,

And Jock o’ the Side is prisoner ta’en.

II

To Sybill o’ the Side the tidings came;

By the waterside there as she ran

She took her kirtle by the hem

And fast to Mangerton she ’s gane.

III

Then up and spoke her Lord Mangerton—

What news, what news, my sister to me?’—

Bad news, bad news! My Michael is slain;

And they ha’e taken my son Johnie.’

IV

The lords they wrang their fingers white,

Ladyes did pull themsells by the hair,

Crying ‘Alas and well-a-day! 15

For Jock o’ the Side we’ll never see mair!’

V

—‘Ne’er fear, sister Sybill,’ quo’ Mangerton;

I have yokes of ousen, eighty and three;

My barns, my byres, and my faulds, a’ weil fill’d,

I’ll part wi’ them a’ ere Johnie shall dee.

Mangerton Side

VI

Three men I’ll send to set him free,

Well harness’d a’ wi’ the best o’ steel;

The English louns may hear, and drie

The weight o’ their braid-swords to feel.

VII

The Laird’s Jock ane, the Laird’s Wat twa,

O Hobbie Noble, thou ane maun be!

Thy coat is blue, thou hast been true,

Since England banish’d thee, to me.’

VIII

Now Hobbie was an English man,

In Bewcastle dale was bred and born;

But his misdeeds they were sae great,

They banish’d him ne’er to return.

IX

Lord Mangerton them orders gave,

Your horses the wrang way maun be shod,

Like gentlemen ye mauna seem,

But look like corn-caugers ga’en the road.

X

Your armour gude ye mauna shaw,

Nor yet appear like men o’ war;

As country lads be a’ array’d,

Wi’ branks and brecham on each mare.’

XI

Their horses are the wrang way shod,

And Hobbie has mounted his grey sae fine;

Wat on his auld horse, Jock on his bey,

And on they rode for the water of Tyne.

XII

But when they came to Cholerton ford

They lighted down by the light o’ the moon,

And a tree they cut, wi’ nogs on each side,

To climb up the wa’ of Newcastle toun.

XIII

But when they cam to Newcastle toun,

And down were alighted at the wa’,

They fand thair tree three ells ower laigh,

They fand their stick baith short and sma.’

XIV

Then up spake the Laird’s ain Jock:

There’s naething for’t; the gates we maun force.’—

But when they cam the gate until,

The porter withstood baith men and horse.

His neck in twa the Armstrangs wrang;

Wi’ fute or hand he ne’er play’d pa!

His life and his keys at anes they hae ta’en,

And cast the body ahint the wa’. 60

XVI

Now sune they reach Newcastle jail,

And to the prisoner thus they call:

Sleeps thou, wakes thou, Jock o’ the Side,

Or art thou weary of thy thrall?’

XVII

Jock answers thus, wi’ dolefu’ tone:

Aft, aft I wake—I seldom sleep:

But whae’s this kens my name sae weel,

And thus to mese my waes does seek?’

XVIII

Then out and spak the gude Laird’s Jock,

Now fear ye na, my billie,’ quo’ he;

For here are the Laird’s Jock, the Laird’s Wat,

And Hobbie Noble to set thee free.’—

XIX

Now haud thy tongue, my gude Laird’s Jock,

For ever, alas! this canna be;

For if a’ Liddesdale were here the night,

The morn ’s the day that I maun dee.

XX

Full fifteen stane o’ Spanish iron,

They hae laid a’ right sair on me;

Wi’ locks and keys I am fast bound

In this dungeon dark and dreirie.’

XXI

Fear ye na that,’ quo’ the Laird’s Jock;

A faint heart ne’er wan a fair ladie;

Work thou within, we’ll work without,

And I’ll be sworn we’ll set thee free.’

XXII

The first strong door that they cam at,

They loosèd it without a key;

The next chain’d door that they cam at,

They garr’d it a’ to flinders flee.

XXIII

The prisoner now upon his back

The Laird’s Jock has gotten up fu’ hie;

And, airns and a’, down the tolbooth stair,

Wi’ nae sma’ speed and joy brings he.

XXIV

Now, Jock, my man,’ quo’ Hobbie Noble,

Some o’ his weight ye may lay on me.’—

I wat weel no!’ quo’ the Laird’s ain Jock,

I count him lighter than a flee.’

XXV

Sae out at the gates they a’ are gane,

The prisoner ’s set on horseback hie;

And now wi’ speed they’ve ta’en the gate,

While ilk ane jokes fu’ wantonlie:

XXVI

O Jock! sae winsomely ye sit,

Wi’ baith your feet upon ae side;

Sae weel ye’re harneist, and sae trig,

In troth ye sit like ony bride!’

XXVII

The night, tho’ wat, they did na mind,

But hied them on fu’ merrilie,

Until they cam to Cholerton brae,

Where the water ran like mountains hie.

XXVIII

But when they cam to Cholerton ford,

There they met with an auld man;

Says—‘Honest man, will the water ride?

Tell us in haste, if that ye can.’—

XXIX

I wat weel no,’ quo’ the gude auld man;

I hae lived here thretty years and three;

Nor man nor horse can go ower Tyne,

Except it were a horse of tree.’—

XXX

Then out and spoke the Laird’s saft Wat,

The greatest coward in the companie:

Now halt, now halt! we need na try’t;

The day is come we a’ maun die!’—

XXXI

Puir faint-hearted thief!’ cried the Laird’s ain Jock,

There’ll nae man die but him that ’s fie;

I’ll guide ye a’ right safely thro’;

Lift ye the pris’ner on ahint me.’

XXXII

Wi’ that the water they hae ta’en,

By ane’s and twa’s they a’ swam thro’;

Here are we a’ safe,’ quo’ the Laird’s Jock,

And, puir faint Wat, what think ye now?

XXXIII

They scarce the other brae had won,

When twenty men they saw pursue;

Frae Newcastle toun they had been sent,

A’ English lads baith stout and true.

XXXIV

But when the Land-sergeant the water saw,

It winna ride, my lads,’ says he;

Then cried aloud—‘The prisoner take,

But leave the fetters, I pray, to me!’

XXXV

I wat weel no,’ quo’ the Laird’s ain Jock,

I’ll keep them, shoon to my mare to be:

My gude bay mare—for I am sure,

She has bought them a’ right dear frae thee.’-

XXXVI

Sae now they are on to Liddesdale,

E’en as fast as they could them hie;

The prisoner is brought to his ain fireside,

And there o’ his airns they mak him free.

XXXVII

Now, Jock, my billie,’ quo’ a’ the three,

The day is comed thou was to die;

But thou ’s as weel at thy ain ingle-side,

Now sitting, I think, ’twixt thee and me.’
